caveats
* all the above assumes statusquo-type panels, but those arent scalable due to [[solar panel minerals|needing too many scarce minerals]]. The best solution for [[solar panels made from abundant materials]] might generate less energy per unit area (maybe about half as much?), so all the above things would be more difficult, accordingly.
* still need energy storage. should i account for the losses in the calculations above? nah just afterthought it and mention that if ppl charged their EVs during the day it would be more viable, maybe; seasonal fluctiations still an issue tho
