New page

For every page on this wiki, there's an associated "talk page" for people to leave comments and discuss how the page could be improved. Think of it like "behind the scenes".
* To get to the talk page, click the "Discussion" tab at the top of any page.
* Even if you don't have an account, you can still leave a comment on a talk page. Your IP address will act as your username.
* It's perfectly valid to have a talk page for a page that doesn't exist. This can be useful for drafting up a new page, discussing what should be on it, or even just having a general discussion thread.

Other kinds of talk content
Besides talkpages, you might see some discussions in other places:
* Inline comments: You'll see a talk-bubble icon This is an example of one! that you can click to read a comment. This is typically found in the middle of a paragraph, to discuss really specific stuff about rephrasing or adding something. It's also used for "to-do list" type notes.
* Discussion font: Similar to above, but not tucked away in a talk bubble. Discussion font looks like this. It's typically used in blank sections of the page, as a note for how to get the ball rolling.

But if you don't have an account, you can't edit or reply to any of those.
This will change when I'm ready to fully open up this wiki.
So stick with using the talkpage instead.

Technical stuff to know
A talkpage is designed to act like a forum of comments, but under the hood, it's actually just like any other wikipage - it can be edited as a document. If it's not formatted properly to distinguish one comment from another, the reply buttons may glitch.
<!--
TALK: i was also thinking to add here:

Page titles
* A page called "Food" will have a talk page called "Talk:Food".
* A page called "Climate change" will have a talk page called "Talk:Climate change".

But I didn't feel like explaining why it's different for other namespaces (i.e. User:Elie and User talk:Elie).
-->

Terminology:
* "Subject page" is the regular page that the talk page is talking about.
* "Discussion page" is a synonym for "talk page".
