Living with roommates or communally is potentially better for the environment, using resources more efficiently. But in some ways, it can actually be less efficient.

Efficiencies

TODO

Inefficiencies

  • having to ventilate the home whenever something makes a bad smell (cooking, bathroom, smoking, etc). This wastes especially a lot of energy for heating in the winter.

The above inefficiencies are with regards to physical resources. but there are also inefficiencies with regards to time:

  • waiting for bathrooms
  • can't leave anything in common spaces, even if leaving the home for just half an hour, always gotta put stuff away to avoid tripping hazards or other accidents

TODO: add more examples(...)( i know there are, but i can't remember what they are at the moment ) before publishing this page.
