Status quo
Almost all of Quebec's electricity comes from hydropower. But other energy usage is still based in fossil fuels:
- Most homes are heated with natural gas.
- Most vehicles run on gasoline or diesel.
- Some industries (such as metals processing) still use coal power.
Does Quebec have enough hydropower capacity to make everything electric?
