A lot of people spend most of their lives working jobs they hate. Jobs that are physically & mentally harmful to health.  discussionTODO: Add to this page:  ~ Examples of jobs that harm the body and/or mind. Plus, how it's physically possible to do them without such harm, if bosses/economics were to allow. There are plenty of examples!  ~ Statistics about how many hours people work (average / per capita) (notice that there isn't a lot of difference between so-called "capitalist" and so-called "communist" countries)  ~ [lower priority] Statistics about how many people hate their jobs (note: such studies are hard to conduct; results should maybe be taken with a grain of salt)

  • On an individual level, this seems 'necessary' for survival - but on a collective level, it is not. Most of the work that society needs done, can be done without much suffering. There are good solutions, which would be perfectly viable if economics & politics didn't get in the way. This page is a place for thinking beyond the status quo.
