Biomass waste production is not a whole lot, compared to fossil fuel production. Also, biomass waste is already being put to other uses besides energy. This severely limits the extent to which biomass waste could replace fossil fuels. Also note that crop residues are the only unavoidable biomass waste. The other wastes (for example fryer oil) could be prevented in the first place.
