This is the first challenge presented on the main solar page: How to manufacture enough solar panels without destroying the planet.

Requirements

Requirements are currently listed on the main solar page. (...)( I might move them to here instead - but for now, I don't want to have to keep the same content updated in 2 places. )

Candidates

It might be possible to manufacture a solar panel made of mostly:

  • Monocrystalline or polycrystalline silicon
  • Aluminium-based internal wiring instead of copper

More research is needed.
