In developed countries, businesses waste an extreme amount of food - far more than what it would take to feed all the local poor people.

What could be done with all the food that businesses currently waste?

Donate it to local food banks and homeless shelters (until their food supply is "saturated").
Offer it for free/cheap to everyone & anyone in the neighborhood.
- This would of course be seen as "competition" against the businesses that wasted the food in the first place. To overcome their resistance, we might need to...
  - Hand out the food at some location that's fairly far away from the business
Convert the food into some sort of shelf-stable food product to be shipped overseas as food aid.

Design some sort of organization that would do any of the above. ^{[DISCUSSION needed]}
Design a political campaign to enable the creation of such an organization. ^{[DISCUSSION needed]}
