A lot of vegetable oil becomes food waste,  discussionTODO: quantify: How much waste oil is produced per year globally (or perhaps, per day per capita globally) (and how much agricultural land that amounts to)? And what 'percentage of all food waste' is that? due to inefficient deep frying methods used by restaurants. Even though this oil is often recovered by energy companies that use it as biofuel, it doesn't undo the environmental impact of producing food that doesn't get eaten(...)( biofuel production causes more harm than fossil fuels, per unit of energy ). We can do better by not letting so much vegetable oil become inedible in the first place.

Solutions

More efficient deep fryer designs

This section has not been filled in yet.  discussionTODO: compare to status quo. Important metric: Ratio: {waste oil output} / {oil input}

Creative cooking

Before the oil gets bad from too much frying, stop frying with it, and use it for other recipes. [ELABORATION needed]
