I tried to find alternatives, and they all suck. Consider this page of suggestions:
- "Pessimum"? No one would understand what I mean
- "Catastrophic"? That sets the bar too low
- "Worst"? That sets the bar too low
- "The limit"? No one would understand what I mean
- "Putid"/"Putrid"? Would have fascist connotations here
- "Stinks"? Would be misunderstood as specific to odor pollutants
