Make it illegal for landlords to say "no pets"
Why
- No one should have to choose between abandoning their pet or becoming homeless.
- Animal shelters are overloaded.
Specifics
- We should define "landlord" in a way that's fair.
- If you own a house, and you live in it, and you rent out rooms in that house, then the policy shouldn't apply to you. You should be allowed to say "no pets" in that case, because you live there too.
- On the other hand, if you own a multi-unit apartment complex, the policy should definitely apply to you. You should not be allowed to say "no pets".
- In between, there's probably some grey area that's up for debate.
