No expensive cosmetic renovations
Just a general principle to help keep the costs of housing low.
Renovations to avoid
- Ripping out countertops, floors, ceilings etc., just because they're "old" or look "ugly" or have stains
- Getting rid of old furniture that's still usable, just because of wanting something new
Renovations to NOT avoid
Any maintenance needed for basic functionality:
- Fixing broken plumbing
- Fixing major electrical problems
- Fixing damaged doors & windows
- Removing things that are moldy beyond repair
